Pick the reply destination#
Choose a monitored mailbox or support queue for genuine replies. Review whether a Reply-To address is appropriate for the message type. Keep automated delivery events separate from the conversations your team should answer.
Test both directions#
Send from the production path to a mailbox you control, reply, and confirm where the reply arrives. Check whether forwarding changes the message or affects authentication evidence. Do not assume a successful outbound send validates inbound routing.
Keep loops out#
Review auto-responders on every hop. Two systems acknowledging one another can create noisy loops. Give the operations owner a clear way to stop the route and inspect the original message. In MailMaid, inbound MailFlow configuration remains separate from domain health checks.
